At Senior Lifestyle, our residents are our first priority, but the families who place them in our care are also always at the front of our minds. Today’s Heart of Caring nominee was recognized for her ability to not only care for her residents, but also her ability to care for our families.

“Debbie is such a caring person and always puts 110% while doing her job. She is a role model to all of us here at Brookstone Estates of Rantoul.”
Debra wears several hats at Brookstone Estates of Rantoul: nurse, friend, team members trainer, role model and suppor. But for one resident in particular, Debra’s heart of caring is truly what made all the difference for the family.
“Debra devoted herself to helping maintain this level of care for [the resident]. She checked on her several times a day and stayed in close contact with [the resident’s] daughter. When the doctor told the family that the end was coming soon, Debra…brought in a twin air mattress and purchased linens for the daughter to enable her to stay in her mother’s apartment until her mother’s passing. [Debra]…was a shoulder for the family and offered words of encouragement. After the death of the resident [Debra] went and had all the pictures she had taken of the resident developed and enlarged as a gift for the daughter. She also took it upon herself to tidy up the apartment so that when the family came back to sort through the resident’s belongings it would look nice. She laid out the pictures she had developed on the coffee table as a surprise for the daughter.”
What an incredible example of a true heart of caring. Thank you, Debra, for the depth of care and compassion you bring to your role at Brookstone Estates of Rantoul, and congratulations on a well-deserved nomination.
