For those who are dependent on medication on a daily basis, having the right people to support you in that process is essential. At the Court at Round Rock, Medication Aide Bridget Rivas not only provides that crucial support, but also a level of caring and intentionality for the residents that earned her a nomination for our Heart of Caring award.
“[Bridget] embraces all core values, she is extremely caring towards residents and staff. She is always going above and beyond the job requirements. She strives to maintain a diligent and positive work attitude.”
According to the team at Court of Round Rock, Bridget’s heart of caring is so infectious that residents regularly stop by the med room just to say hello and check in.
“[Bridget] makes sure to have a stimulating conversation with every resident that enters the med room. The residents are always happy, talking about the good times and sharing their past experiences; they leave the med room with a twinkle in their eye.”
For one resident in particular, Bridget’s commitment to caring has made a world of difference in their assisted living experience.
“There is one resident that lives in assisted living but needs little assistance from us. This resident always stops by the med room after dinner to check in. Bridget, no matter what she is doing, will stop to talk to her and gives the resident a hug before she goes to her room. This gives the resident the sense that we are her family, not just her caregivers.”
