In this role you will be responsible for providing quick, efficient, and pleasant service of food and beverage to residents and guests ensuring the needs of both are met.  They also must keep the bar and dining room areas clean and sanitary according to Senior Lifestyle policies & procedures, County, and State Guidelines.

Job Description

  • Manage and stock the bar, coordinating orders with the Director of Dining Services.
  • Ensure responsible beverage service to prevent overserving.
  • Assist with light food preparation and may help train other staff.
  • Provide table service and assists in various dining services as needed.
  • Ensure timely delivery of food and beverage orders in accordance with company standards.
  • Focus on achieving resident and guest satisfaction and responds promptly to their requests.
  • Report any concerns or comments from residents directly to the Dining Services Manager.
  • Comply with health codes for food handling and maintains safe work practices.

Qualifications

Level of Formal Education: High School Diploma
Area of Study: General
Years of Experience: Entry-level (1-3+ years)
Type of Experience: Previous bartender and food service experience preferred.
Special Certifications: Obtain/hold any required local, state, and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates. Must be at least 18 years of age. 
Language Skills: Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisor and other employees, and respond and communicate to emergency situations.
Technical Competencies: Basic computer skills if needed for POS system and ADP.
Skills and Ability:

  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.

Information Systems: Basic computer skills if needed for POS system and ADP.
Personal Attributes: Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward customers and co-workers.
