Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Victor, United States. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality, kitchen efficiency, and team collaboration.

  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management
  • Prepare meals from standardized recipes, ensuring timely and attractive presentation
  • Coordinate food preparation and set up service lines and workstations
  • Assist in menu planning, food ordering, and inventory management
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health codes
  • Participate in pre-meal meetings with food servers to review daily menu details
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organize stock rooms, coolers, and freezers
  • Implement food waste reduction techniques and proper food storage practices
  • Contribute to menu innovation and cost control initiatives
  • $24 - $26 hour

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in a leadership role
  • Culinary degree or related certificate from a recognized college or technical school
  • Current ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written
  • Advanced knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and culinary trends
  • Proven ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Expertise in menu planning, cost control, and inventory management
  • Thorough understanding of food service techniques and health department requirements
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Creative approach to culinary arts and menu development
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
