The Life of Julia Dent Grant: A Veterans Appreciation Lunch & Learn – Seasons

Veterans and spouses are invited to join us for a special reenactment of the life of Julia Dent Grant by Joyce Hackbarth from the Heritage Village Museum. The wife of Ulysses S. Grant, Julia was as known for her grace and hospitality in the White House and was instrumental in shaping the role of the First Lady in American politics. From her childhood growing up on a Missouri plantation and experiences during the Civil War to her influence on the Reformation, early rights for African Americans and women’s education and suffrage, you’ll be fascinated by what you learn.
