Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in Chicago, United States. As a Maintenance Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities, coordinating maintenance activities, and providing exceptional service to our clients and staff.

  • Coordinate and oversee daily maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility upgrades
  • Manage work order systems, prioritizing and assigning tasks to maintenance staff or contractors
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address potential issues proactively
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion of all tasks
  • Collaborate with various departments to address maintenance needs and minimize disruptions to operations
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate necessary actions
  • Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff on best practices and safety procedures
  • Assist in developing and managing maintenance budgets
  • Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and facilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance issues
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
  • Job-related certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry (preferred)
  • Associate's degree in Facilities Management or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience in supervising maintenance staff (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed
