Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) specializing in Memory Care to join our team in Snellville, United States. As a CNA in our Memory Care unit, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, person-centered care to residents with dementia and other memory-related conditions.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meals
- Monitor and record vital signs, weight, and fluid intake/output
- Recognize and report changes in residents' conditions to supervisors
- Provide emotional support and engage residents in memory-enhancing activities
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by licensed nursing staff
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to care plans
- Implement fall prevention strategies and assist with safe transfers and positioning
- Promote residents' rights, dignity, and independence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
- Participate in ongoing training and education related to memory care best practices
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license as required by the state of Georgia
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in clinical/nursing settings, preferably in memory care or geriatrics
- Specialized training or experience in dementia care is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of memory care principles and person-centered care approaches
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for electronic health record documentation
- Physical stamina to assist with resident transfers, positioning, and other care activities
- Emotional resilience and patience in working with memory care residents
- Dedication to maintaining resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
- Ability to multitask effectively while ensuring resident safety and quality of care
- Empathetic and compassionate approach to resident care
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in memory care practices
