Senior Lifestyle is proud to share the philosophy and goals of the Alzheimer’s Association and proud of our designation as a Global Team in the effort to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease. The Longest Day event, which took place in June across America, provided us an opportunity for total engagement in this important cause. Our corporate staff, regional staff, and our local senior communities pulled out all the stops this year to meet our fundraising goals for this event, with 107 Senior Lifestyle teams and 268 participants taking part in the event. Families and residents at our communities always play a vital part in local events as well, pledging to spend time raising awareness on The Longest Day.
Our fundraising goal for The Longest Day this year was $50,000, and we’re proud to say that we met and far exceeded that goal, with Senior Lifestyle teams raising a total of $100,797.56 for The Longest Day! We’re proud to have such a committed group of people working to end Alzheimer’s, and until there’s a cure, our goals will remain high. Planning for The Longest Day begins early each year, with many of our teams already looking forward to outdoing themselves at next year’s event. It’s this team spirit and sense of commitment that makes our Senior Lifestyle fundraisers so successful.
With planning already underway for next year’s The Longest Day, we’re now looking forward to participating in local Walk to End Alzheimer’s events in the next few weeks. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, “held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.” Team members, residents and families in our Senior Lifestyle communities are lacing up their walking shoes and taking steps to eliminate Alzheimer’s, and we hope you’ll join us!
